Arizona Desert Gold Phoenix: Lisa Scheer, a chapter administrator, reported: “Our Chapter President, Paula Thomasson, was recently invited to speak by the Arizona Dental Association President, Kevin Earl, at a recent Arizona State Legislative session. Paula has positioned herself as an extremely valuable resource with her insurance knowledge and is dedicated to ensure that all dental offices across Arizona have the best resources and guidance when navigating insurance plans. HB2494, which requires health insurers to accompany any form of payment with an explanation of benefits, was passed in the House of Representatives unanimously. Paula noted that the challenges and costs with virtual credit card payments can be overwhelming to offices when matching them to proper patients and procedures. The bill also addressed network issues. These great measures will protect the hard-working providers and their offices within the healthcare profession.
