2016 Green Leader Announced at AADOM Conference

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

AADOM MEMBER CLAUDIA PAYE RECEIVES GREEN LEADER AWARD FOR CREATING A MORE SUSTAINABLE DENTAL PRACTICE

Fourth Annual Green Leader Award, Made Possible by Green Leader Initiative Funded by Henry Schein Cares Foundation Grant, Presented at 2016 AADOM Conference

MELVILLE, N.Y., September 19, 2016
– Henry Schein, Inc. (Nasdaq: HSIC) announced today that Claudia Paye, Office Manager for Dr. Frank Peritore’s New York-based Woodpoint Dental, has been selected as the recipient of the fourth annual Green Leader Award. The American Association of Dental Office Management (AADOM) presented the award to Ms. Paye at the 2016 AADOM Conference, held earlier this month in Boca Raton, Florida.

The award was created by AADOM as part of its Green Leader Initiative, which was developed to educate dental office managers and practices around the country about easy-to-implement strategies that reduce their environmental footprint and support their practices in achieving greater financial success. The initiative aims to empower practice managers to lead their teams in becoming part of dentistry’s green future, and was made possible by a grant from the Henry Schein Cares Foundation.

“It is an incredible honor to receive this award, and I’d like to thank AADOM and the Henry Schein Cares Foundation for recognizing our team’s effort to reduce our carbon footprint,” said Ms. Paye. “It’s encouraging to know that our aspirations to create a greener world through an environmentally-friendly dental practice are recognized, and I hope that more practices are inspired by what we’ve been able to accomplish at Woodpoint Dental.”

Ms. Paye, an AADOM member, was recognized for spearheading efforts to reduce her practice’s carbon footprint by using recycled disposable products such as gloves, patient bibs, and tray covers; using energy-saving computers, lights, and light fixtures; donating old equipment to a dental school to be repurposed; going almost completely paperless with Henry Schein Practice Solutions’ Dentrix practice management software; and implementing a carpooling program for team members.

“When we consider the time and dedication it takes to implement so many environmentally conscious initiatives while turning an office fully digital, we can’t help but admire what Claudia has accomplished,” said AADOM Vice President Lorie Streeter. “Not only are her efforts commendable, but they will improve office productivity and make a noticeable environmental impact. It epitomizes her devotion to fostering a more positive and efficient environment for her team, doctors, and most importantly, the patient.”

“The Henry Schein Cares Foundation is proud to join with AADOM to recognize forward-thinking dental office managers such as Ms. Paye for their efforts to create greener, more efficient practices,” said Steven W. Kess, President, Henry Schein Cares Foundation. “Dental office managers play a critical role in facilitating an environment in which patients feel comfortable and oral health practitioners can deliver quality care, and we believe that Ms. Paye’s commitment to sustainability should serve as an inspiration to other practices.”
